Far too often the importance of proper shooting form is overlooked. Today’s technology in the archery world is amazing. Bows are faster, lighter, more compact, quieter and easier to shoot than ever before. Often times the first thing a shooter (like me for example) looks at when things are not going well is the equipment rather than being honest with themselves and looking at the more probable cause.
To begin practice, the exact placement of the feet on the shooting line should be marked. Some archers would tell you that stance deviations of even a few inches can cause sighting and aiming problems, which then in return could lead to accuracy problems. ...ays to improve your upper strength, which will improve your over-all accuracy. For example, using weights is an excellent way to improve your arm and upper back strength. Yoga is also good, because it teaches you ways to control your breathing and balance. These are only simple ways to get started, but any workouts that will enhance your upper body strength or help you stay balanced is good at improving your over-all success in archery. Upper body strength is needed because when you pull back the string, it may take some force, and the controlled breathing will help steady your aim and balance will help it so that you stay planted on the ground. Archery seemed easy to me at first, but I learned that there was a lot more to it than what I thought. However, I hope the information above helps you have an better understanding of what is expected when it comes to archery.
