Freedom is what makes the American dream special and unique. We as Americans have the privilege to carry out our dreams and make them become real with effort. We have the freedom to create a family, own a home, choose our career path, and ultimately do anything we can think of. The American dream wouldn’t be what it is if it weren’t for freedom. This principle is clearly expressed in RE/MAX’s “Turn Your Dreams into a Reality” ad. The ad, which is mainly targeted to men and women seeking to purchase a home, has a blue sky with clouds and a line of never ending green plants in the background (RE/MAX). There is a red, white, and blue air balloon with the word “RE/MAX” written in the center of it (RE/MAX). Next to the air balloon is a phrase that says “Turn Your Dreams into a Reality” and below the phrase is the outline of a house outlined in white lines (RE/MAX). The house and the quote create thoughts of happiness and how simple life could be with a home (RE/MAX). Also the never ending sky and plants, and the air balloon high up in the air associate themselves with success and high hopes (RE/MAX). The ad displays freedom by emphasizing that dreams can become real and letting the viewer know that they are free to dream which is part of the American dream. This freedom allows viewers to think of how happy they could be and makes them want to associate their dreams to success and satisfaction. Viewers will assume that by using RE/MAX to buy a home their American dream will be fulfilled when they purchase a home. This is very convincing because viewers want to be happy and want to be free to fulfill whatever they want. The ad does a good job of persuading the buyers because according to the ad their dreams will be fulfilled which is what the American dream is all
