Alexandra Cassavetes, an American Actress and director, once said, “I think Vampires are different from human beings, but they’re sentenced to eternity on this planet. They have the same confusion about love and permanence, integrity, and denial. These qualities really are the same in vampire characters as in humans. I think they’re universal themes.” Everyone loves Television Shows, and when producers add Vampires, romance, and blood all in one, it makes it even juicier. Not only may Vampire shows be juicy, but something about Supernatural Creatures that people love draws them in to new and superior seasons each year when they get hooked on a certain show. 2-3). “True Blood” had the highest rating of all three shows. This show is an American Television drama series produced and created by Alan Ball. The Southern Vampire Mysteries series of novels by Charlaine Harris is what “True Blood” is based off of. The hit Television Series details the co- existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional small town in Louisiana. “True Blood” centered on a waitress, Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic human- faerie hybrid. “True Blood” premiered on September 7, 2008 and concluded on August 24, 2014 with 80 episodes (Wikipedia, 2015, para. 2). Before humans knew that vampires existed, Japanese scientists created synthetic blood, which eliminated vampires’ need for human blood to survive. This allowed vampires to reveal their existence to the world. Other supernatural creatures eventually get introduced into the show, such as werewolves, shapeshifters (The ability of an entity to physically transform into another being or form), witches, faeries (“realm of the fays,” or a fairy), and a maenad (the female followers of Dionysus and the most significant members of the Thiasus, the god’s retinue). The Vampire Diaries is an American Supernatural-fantasy horror/drama television series developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, based on the popular book series of the same name written by L.J Smith (The Vampire Diaries Wiki, 2015, para. 1). The show stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Steven R. McQueen, Sara Canning, Kat Graham, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig, Kayla Ewell, Michael Trevino, Matt Davis, Joseph Morgan, and Michael Malarkey. The series also focuses on the lives of Elena’s friends and other inhabitants of the fictional town of Mystic Falls, Virginia (The Vampire Diaries Wiki, 2015, para. 1). Starting out in season one, Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), and Brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), have to deal with the loss of their parents after a tragic car accident. Elena had always been a star student at Mystic Falls High; beautiful, popular, and involved with school and friends (TV Series Finale, 2015, para. 2). Coming back to the new school year, Elena meets Stefan Salvatore, who is beyond handsome. It was practically love at first sight. Elena starts noticing strange things about Stefan, and when she asks him about these weird situations, he makes up excuses to avoid the conversation.
