Newsela research states about Africa that “the big cats there are possibly the most endangered lions on the planet”. Trophy hunting should not be allowed.Trophy hunting can be harmful to animals that are becoming endangered. Animals should be protected instead of hurt or harmed. Also trophy hunting can be a cruel form of hunting. Hunting destroy animal families and habitats, and leaves terrified and dependent baby animals behind to starve to death.

To begin with, trophy hunting should be illegal. Lions are an endangered species and need to be protected. Lions are lured from protected areas, and trophy hunting needs to be stopped. According to Africa’s Uneasy Neighbors by: Alessandra Potenza it states that “In July, hunting guides lured a lion named Cecil from a protected area in a national park in Zimbabwe”. Killing poor lions will not benefit your village, it is hurting endangered species. People should never harm poor little animals for money, those animals deserve a life and you are killing them for no reason. According to the article entitled Africa’s Uneasy Neighbors it states the a lion named Cecil was treated cruelly. “A dentist from Minnesota- who had paid more than $50,000 for the chance to kill an African lion- fired on Cecil with a crossbow, wounding him. He then reportedly tracked the cat for nearly two days before fatally shooting him with a rifle”. Hunters cause injuries, pain and suffering to animals who are not adapted to defend themselves from bullets, traps and other cruel killing
