INTRODUCTION
TransCanada Pipeline: it is one of the major projects of the Canadian nation, principally concerned with the laying down of oil pipeline for transportation of oil across the country. This project would enhance the economy related perspectives and will generate fresh trade scenarios.
Effects on the Environment: There will be harm to the aquatic life if oil spillage would occur. Moreover, it will pollute the water and make it unsafe for human consumption.
Ethical concern: Ethics may be described as a kind of assurance to safeguard moral principles without any compulsion or any supervision. It will offer job opportunities for upcoming generations. There will be increase in national income
Zoey Walden and Julie Dalzell(2014) had given their views that three types of jobs will be created by TransCanada Oil Pipeline Project and these are direct jobs, indirect jobs and induced jobs. These jobs will provide employment to innovative youth, which will lead to upsurge in productivity as well as national revenue of Canada. Therefore, the TransCanada Oil Pipeline Project will align its interest ,according to public benefits. Moreover, National Energy Board(2010) has clearly mentioned in its official report that “there is no evidence ins support of the fact that there would be hostile effect of the TransCanada Oil Pipeline Project on the Aboriginals land usage for their cultural purposes.” It also ensures in its report that “this project will comply with the Environmental protection plan and will follow the guidelines specified in the heritage and resource acts of Alberta and Saskatchewan.”
