There is many people out there who discredits others, and tend to overlook what they are capable of. This is done a lot in the NBA. Many overlook the most important factors of playing basketball and like to base everything off of one's scoring ability. Which brings me to the topic of the top 10 point guards in the league. All point guards should have certain characteristics in order to be considered the top in the league. The top NBA point guards, as of right now, all share similar qualities in their game that makes them the top point guards in the league. For example their ability to handle the ball. One point guard that has incredible ball handling skills is Kyrie Irving. This allows him to get past most of his defenders. Which allows him to have dominant in-game performances. Another top point guard in the NBA that has great ball handling skills is Stephen Curry. He uses various amounts of dribble moves and combinations to create space within him and the defender. By him being the best shooter in the league, him being able to create his own shot is very beneficial for his game. One top guard in the league that has phenomenal defense is Mike Conley. Mike Conley had a very good 2016-2017 season averaging 20 points. But that production has come at the expense of his defense. John Wall, another top point guard, is also a very well defender. Not just in passing lanes, but often as a weak side shot-blocking threat. He routinely flies from out of nowhere to deter a shot attempt from a player. Another is Chris Paul. The floor general is always acutely aware of everyone’s positioning, and it allows him to force opponents into disadvantage positions.
