“[I] have a wife as miserable as [myself], [we] are so miserly that [we] conspire to cheat on eachother.” (Irving 1). “You cheated on me! Why did you do this to me?” said Tom Walker. The greedy and selfish wife replied, “Kidd the Pirate loves me with everything. You treat me as if I were a dog.” “Don not blame this on me,” spoke Tom Walker. “I gave everything to you, until you gave your heart to someone else. I thought you loved me the way I loved you….You have been lying to me for years, years, and years. I always knew you were hiding something from me, but I thought I was demented. I was blindsided by the thought of us in our perfect home in Boston, Massachusetts. I could never imagine you would do something like this to me…. it just is not upright”. …show more content…

“I really never meant to hurt you Tom, but our love seemed to decease. You have been looking for that treasure for years, years, and years. You never came home and Kidd the Pirate was always there for me. You were too blindsided by the treasure, and did not notice how depressed I was without you. Kidd the Pirate told me he never buried any treasure”. Tom became furious, and could not handle himself. I never thought she would do this to me. Tom thought confoundedly, How could this happen to me? I have never done wrong, and all the years have been a lie. “You never seemed depressed when I got home, and you never mentioned seeing Kidd the Pirate”. Tom thought thoroughly, What is so special about him? I am a meager wise fellow. He’s only a guy who hides treasure. With that, Tom realized he’s had enough. He could not fight anymore with his wife about their marriage. “My love for you is gone and will never return” spoke Tom
