To Kill a Mockingbird was and still is one of the English finest literatures. To Kill a Mockingbird was an instant best seller and also the winner of the Pulitzer Prize. This Essay is about this book; to kill a Mockingbird is a famous quote from a character in this book that concerns a very important lesson being taught. The main character of this book is a young girl and her brother and they learn a lot of things. By learning form examples, the children are able to be more courageous. By making an honest mistake, the children are able to be taught to be more respectful. And last but not least by being taught the children learn not to harm anything that has not caused any harm. This entire essay is about the children’s early mistake in judgments teach them valuable lesson, which help make more mature decisions later on.

Through being educated about courage, the children are able to be more courageous. In the earlier parts of the novel Jem gets into an angry confrontation with Mrs. Dubose while passing her house. Jem gets mad and later in the story cuts the head of all the flowers in Mrs. Dubose’s garden thinking that this action was an act of courage. As a punishment Atticus made Jem read to Mrs. Dubose for a month. At first Jem thought that it would be the worst thing ever but after a while he realizes that she is not such a bad person. After the death of Mrs. Dubose Atticus tells Jem about Mrs. Dubose’s courage. From this Jem learns the meaning of true courage. After the death of Mrs. Dubose Atticus told Jem, “I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun” (Lee 149) Atticus is telling Jem what real courage is and about Mrs. Dubose morphine addiction and how she had vow...

If this was before Atticus had taught them the lesson Scout would have probably crushed the bug and Jem would have never stepped in. By being taught by Atticus, The children learn not to harm innocent things.
The early mistake that the children makes teaches them important lessons, which helps them make better judgments later on in life. By meeting people with courage, the children learn to have courage. Being taught by adults, the children learned to be more respectful. Learning from intelligent individuals, the children learn not to harm innocent beings. This Essay included three lessons out of the many that the Children learned throughout the novel. The novel To Kill a Mockingbird has many hidden meanings and lessons for people to learn.
