In this essay you will be informed about Jean Louise Finch, or other-wise known as Scout, after reading this essay you will understand about her physical description, conflicts, courage, and emotional moments discussed in the book , 'To Kill A Mocking Bird' by Harper Lee.
Scout is just a straight, plain tom-boy. She wears dirty overalls, very scruffy, has bangs and, like most tom-boys, hates to wear dresses. That was just to tell a little about her physically you will find more about her behaviour while reading the following paragraphs.
There are moments in this book that show conflict between Scout and other characters. An example of a conflict is between Scout and Cecil Jacob, a class-mate. This conflict is about her father, Atticus, Cecil said that Atticus was a nigger-lover. The same conflict came up again but this time it was between Scout and Francis, her cousin, about her dad, Atticus, being a nigger-lover, this conflict started on page 83-86. A part of this is below (page 86):
'"What did Francis call him[Atticus]?".
"A nigger-lover...."'
One other conflict was with an old lady, Mrs. Dubose, this conflict was started by Mrs. Dubose, she had started this problem because she was being snappy at Scout for no reason, Scout hated her, this hate is shown on page 99. It is stated below:
'"Jem and I hated her[Mrs. Dubose]."'
So after Scout had found out Mrs. Dubose's reason for be snappy all the time, the reason was she was sick and on the drug Morphine.
Scout is an extremely courageous character too. Since I've told you about the Cecil Jacobs' conflict you might be thinking, "What a JERK!!" Scout does too and wants to make him eat a knuckle-sandwich! The amazing and courageous part is that she has never turned down a fight in her life but now she does because Atticus had said for her not to listen and most importantly of all not to fight back. So she is not fighting back because of her love for Atticus but taking the blow, as in letting them call her and her father names. I call this being a courageous human-being. This drama is shown on pages 75-77. I have taken an example from pages 76-77:
'"You gonna take that back, boy[Cecil Jacobs]?"
'"You gotta make me first!" .... "My parents say...." I drew a bead on him, remembered what Atticus had said, then dropped my fists and walked away, "Scout's a coward!" ringing in my ears.
Leading up to her display of confidence, Francis, her cousin, had been calling Scout’s father, Atticus, a “nigger- lover” and Scout was getting mad. She had been chasing him and was going to beat him black and blue when he ran into the kitchen and locked the door. She then waited. “ When stalking one’s prey, it is best to take one’s time, say nothing, and as sure as eggs, he will become curious and emerge.” (Lee 83). This shows her confidence in her methods and how using these methods will work out for her. This also shows her confidence in her ability to
Scout had to deal with her cynical cousin Francis at the Christmas party, when she speaks to Francis he begins to rant about the disrespect Atticus brings to the family name. “Now he’s turned out to be a nigger-lover. We’ll never be able to walk the streets of Maycomb again. He’s ruinin’ the family, that’s what he’s doin’” (88). Scout then defends Atticus, arguing with Francis.
Scout is the main character in this book, everything happens from her point of view. But, what happens with her, how does she change and develop? Throughout the book, To Kill A Mockingbird, Scout develops by becoming less aggressive, more independent, and more able to see things from other people's points of view.
Scout is a young girl growing up in the south, she is intelligent, thoughtful, and good natured. Her identity is somewhat uncommon during the time she lives in. She is characterized as a tomboy, who doesn’t always act “lady like” or proper by southern standards. Scout most likely became the type of person she is by the care of her father, Atticus. He shapes her mind, while trying to protect her from a dangerous world and preserving her childhood.
Scout Finch is the main character of To Kill A Mockingbird. Throughout the story, Scout will learn courage and kindness, and doing what is right. When the book begins, Scout is only 6 years old, and still has a lot to learn. She is a kind person and wants to make Atticus proud, but she has a lot of growing up to do.
Atticus continuously tells her that this is wrong and that she needs to learn to control her anger, “You might hear some ugly talk about it at school, but do one thing for me if you will: you just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anybody says to you, don’t you let ‘em get your goat? Try fighting with your head for a change” (Lee 101). The day after this discussion with Atticus, Scout is approached by a fellow student who had previously made a mean comment about her father. “I drew a bead on him, remembered what Atticus had said, then dropped my fists and walked away.it was the first time I ever walked away from a fight” (Lee 102).
Here is where serous fluid is secreted by the pleural membranes lubricating the inside of the pleural cavity therefore stopping possible irritation to the lungs during respiration. The lung is shaped like a cone-shaped, the superior end of the lung that forms the point and the inferior end at the base. The apex is found at the superior end of the lungs. And the inferior end known as the base rests on the diaphragm. The base of the lungs is concave which follows the contour of the diaphragm.

In addition, Scout learns about morality from Atticus after she is taunted at school. Cecil Jacobs begins giving Scout trouble at school because Atticus is defending a black man. Scout isn’t sure what he means by that or why it is such a bad thing, so she consults Atticus to learn more about the matter. Atticus explains to Scout that he is defending Tom Robinson, a black man, in a trial. Atticus says he has to do it although he knows he isn’t going to win, he says “‘ If I didn’t I couldn’t hold up my head in town, I couldn’t this county in the state legislature. I couldn't even tell you and Jem not to do something again’’’ (100). Atticus wants to fight for what he believes is right, even if there is almost no chance of him winning. In addition, Atticus asks Scout not to fight when someone makes comments about him or this case. Through Atticus actions, Scout learns to have integrity, even if it means making tough decisions. For example, Scout walks away from a
Bravery and Courage are such important traits during a hard time or a period of loss. Atticus knows that the trial will most likely not go his way and that Tom Robinson will most likely be convicted guilty, but he still tries his hardest to prove Tom’s innocence. “Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win”(Lee 101.) This quote explains when Atticus tells Scout why he is defending Tom in the trial. Atticus tells Scout that she and her brother needs to be brave and that it would be the right thing to defend Tom.
When young wizards and witches makes the right decisions when using potions it can lead them into the history books as a brilliant potion-maker, when the make they wrong it can lead them to a Azkaban.
Transcendentalism is a major concept that originated in New England from 1836 to 1855. It is the idea that people have knowledge about themselves that rises above or goes beyond the five senses. The man credited with leading this revolutionary movement was Ralph Waldo Emerson. He was born in Boston, and used his experience at Harvard and as a Unitarian Reverend to help start this revolution. He eventually would come to the conclusion that the individual is more morally just than religion. He started this shift with his book Nature, which he published in 1836. Nature was a collection of papers, an essay that read like a disjointed nightmare would. This revolution has translated into modern society; however, there are still many aspects of

The idea to administer a potion seems all too simple; however, there is nothing simplistic about it. Potions are risky and can have disastrous consequences if not thoroughly attended to or ingredients are not properly researched. One must be thoroughly skilled and of a calm and steady disposition. Especially, if the potion is being used to help a magical creature who is sick or injured.
