That was one of her quotes. Harper Lee’s full name was Nelle Harper Lee. On April 28th, 1926, Monroeville Alabama, Harper Lee was born. Harper was the author of the bestseller, To Kill a Mockingbird, which she wrote in 1960, and won the Pulitzer prize for her efforts. Also, she wrote Go Set a Watchman on July 14, 2015, which incorporates the characters from To Kill a Mockingbird. Harper had four siblings: Alice, Louise, and Edwin. The town contained racism, which was an issue that Harper faced in her town, Monroeville. Similarly, in the book, the main character resembles Harper, being a main character who was a tomboy and has a father who was a lawyer.
Throughout Harper’s education, she progressed to the Huntingdon College in Montgomery; an all-female college. She later arrived at the University of Alabama to study law. Finding she did not desire to study law, she soon left, traveled to New York, and advanced towards Oxford University. She arrived in New York six months before she began the Oxford University coursework. As a student involved in the student exchange program, she stayed for a year. As an author, Harper had the opportunity to assist her friend, Truman Capote, and willingly aided him in writing an article for The New Yorker. In addition, in 1956, Harper Lee also assisted Truman Capote with his novel, In Cold Blood. She pitched in by interviewing people in the area pertaining to the true murder incident, which was what the book was based off of. Miraculously, in 1956, Harper received a generously large amount of money from her friends, so she could pursue life as an inspiring author
