There are many different types of prejudices and racism to this day. Some examples are blacks are discriminated for many things, there is still problems with how colored people are treated, and how bad the Jim Crow laws were against the blacks and how some of the acts were brought to today showing dislike towards the colored man. Even though many of these prejudices and racism acts began many many years ago, they still continue to this present day.
First of all, why and how do colored people get discriminated? There are many reasons to why they get discriminated. One main reason is because there are many people who are anti-black. Fifty-six percent of americans are anti-black and that number increased five percent from fifty-one when Barack Obama took office as president (Mitchell). Other reasons colored people get discriminated is because of most of their ancestors were in slavery and because colored people are inferior to other races (Radwan). One of the people, that happened to be colored, who receives bad views upon himself is Barack Obama, our president. He is said to be the anti-christ and muslim, when in fact he is christian (Shah).This in fact fuels racism and prejudices present in the day. In the year 1837, the colored people didn’t have their morals and culture respected, even though they were supposed to be free from slavery, and allowed to live like the whites were. They were shunned and separated from the whites, only making them think that life wasn’t fair for them and that the whites had more advantages to life than all the colored people.
