In the movie and book, each have their own ‘guardian angel’ which can be seen as a symbol. In ‘A Time to Kill’ Jake’s family was helped on numerous occasions by an anonymous caller in the KKK who called himself “Mickey Mouse” and in ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ the children had Boo Radley who saved them towards the end of the book and was presumably the one who left trinkets in the tree for them to find. The two symbolic characters both stay anonymous until the very end, and stay true to their own morals even with the perceived perception created of them.
