Being part of a diverse community will improve a human’s personality and its behavior toward others. In order to build a diverse community, every person needs to feel that they will be included and important. It doesn’t matter in which ethnic, racial, race or tribe he or she belongs to. University is a place where you can find the definition of Diversity. The main reason behind the idea of founding the American University of Afghanistan was to make an educational community of all the peoples who live in this country, a campus where students from different ethnics can join and get access to standard education. And AUAF is the place where you cannot just see, but even feel Diversity in a positive way.
First and foremost AUAF is the only educational society in Afghanistan, where you’ll see students for almost all ethnics and races. As a freshman what I have found at the beginning days in the campus is that students are not much interested about each other ethnic, race or language, instead they are more likely to talk and learn about each other’s culture and differences in their point of view which clearly shows how much diversity is important in AUAF. …show more content…

The only way to become more culturally competent is to communicate with the peoples who are from different ethnics and have a different culture. Treating every person in a same way could also be a good step to go beyond the culture and ethnic boundaries. In our country people thinks that recognizing differences will divide people from each other. However, in my opinion learning about others life style differences can actually bring people closer together, because it can show and points important parts of each other’s life. Through that we can learn how much we are common as human
