“To a Louse” The author Robert Burns is one of the romantic poets in our textbook. Robert Burns likes to do word pictures so you could imagine what’s going on. He also like to get things to simple to complex. Burns is from Scotland and is a poet. The poem “To a Mouse” is about a rich woman that thinks she’s all that. She shows up to church late and instead of sitting in the back respectfully she walks to the front she sits in the front. The person that she sits in front of might be Burns which I’m assuming. So there are three important messages in this poem that i'm going to share with you. To begin, Burns is sitting and then a woman walks by acting like she's the most important person in the world and then she sits in front of him. The rich lady has a hat which is called a bonnet. Everybody notices her because she's very rich, pretty and dressed very well. The way she shows her wealth is by dressing well. She sits right in front of everyone because she wants everyone to see her. The reason for all this is because she thinks she's all that. To get the attention she wants she sits in front, but she doesn’t know what the person behind her knows and sees. …show more content…

He then notices a louse on her bonnet and then thought to himself wouldn't the rich be well cared. You would think that the poor people would be dirty and have lice, but no this rich woman has a louse on her bonnet.Burns is like super surprised to see someone wealthy with lice. Burns looks at it for a while then he starts talking to the louse asking why did you pick her of all people. Which in this state is called irony. He thinks to himself and he start really thinking how and what she's thinking right there and
