Reality TV shows have become a prominent part of America’s pop culture. One of the reasons for its popularity is because of the people who star on these shows. Many famous celebrities like Emma Stone, Harry Styles, Lucy Hale, Lauren Conrad, and Kim Kardashian got famous from starring or competing on reality television shows. It takes a special instinct to be able to distinguish which individuals will help make great television or become well-known celebrities, and Tina Eisner is one of those people with the ability to spot star power. For the last six years, the 27-year-old has been working as a reality television casting director at Cornwell Casting. She has many responsibilities which include managing the company as a whole. Some of her duties while managing the company are meeting with networks and production companies, managing budgets and crew, being the internship coordinator, and managing all the legal aspects of the television shows Cornwell Casting works on. Tina also takes part in finding, interviewing, and hiring new employees. One of Tina’s favorite things about her job is managing television shows individually. When she is managing the television shows, she is the liaison between the network and the employees (in regards to the guidelines each cast member must meet to be on the show). Some of the guidelines Tina must meet with her casting are things like background checks, citizenship status, and making sure the show has a diverse cast. She also looks for people with personalities that would work well for certain shows. When asked about trends in the industry, Tina emphasizes how crucial it is to cast appropriately for each show and to be aware of what shows are on what networks. “Being familiar with what type of shows, subjects, and people a network puts on the air can help when casting a project for them.
