LGBT Welcomes Former Towie Star, Charlie King and the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook Who Recently Came out

In an Opinion Piece in Businessweek, the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, decided to come out and reveal that he is, “proud to be gay”.

Besides making this statement, Cook also spoke of equality, sexuality, and about his life in hopes that his openness in his first public acknowledgment about being gay– will encourage others to stop struggling with their sexuality and come out as well.

Cook also noted — writing for Bloomberg Businessweek — that speaking out publicly was not an easy choice for him to make since he desired his privacy. However, he hopes that speaking out in public about his own sexual orientation would help bring comfort to others who may feel alone.

So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.”

He also claimed that although being gay was uncomfortable and tough for him at times, it is what caused him to be more empathetic and hopes that others will continue to respect his desire to focus on what he is suited for best, the work that brings joy to him.

Although this was the first time, Cook has publically announced his sexual orientation; he has continuously shown his support for the LGBT community and their rights.

Before they marched in July’s Gay Pride parade, held in San Francisco, Cook greeted the 5,000 employees.

A month before that, Cook also showed his support for the decision made by the White House to ban discrimination against LGBT at federal contractors, which he called, quote, “a matter of basic human dignity”.
