Tic Tac has been one of the most successful brands in the breath mints industry for a very long time now. The brand is recognized in almost all the countries of the world now. Throughout the last few years, Tic Tac's products have been modified and extended in numerous ways. To generate attention in the market, Tic Tac came up with a catchy jingle, "Put a Tic Tac in your mouth and get a bang out of life!", during the year 1969. In the early 1970's, they worked on a product line extension by adding cinnamon-flavored red mints. Subsequently, they introduced another line extension, tangerine flavored orange mints, which was a crowd pleaser. Therefore packaging plays the most significant role in the decision-making process. Adding new product packaging might have a lot of benefits and risks. Tic Tac has been in the industry for more than 50 years. Different brands are available to compete and test their existence. The company should keep on changing the packing to attract more customers and also, gain the attraction of the old customers. Adding new packing might have a lot of benefits. Having a new packaging scheme will help the band compete and succeed in the market. Giving a new look at the product is a way of promoting the product and is a different way of attracting new customers and also the lost customers. A new look might also help to bring freshness to the existing brand. New packaging can facilitate recycling and reduces environmental damage. Along with all the benefits, adding new looks and packaging also has some risks as well. The company might have to face challenges of changing the package for the Tic Tac product because the consumer is familiar with the current packaging. As a result, they are likely to switch to other products in case they won’t find the same style and design going forward. They should first gather secondary data and then collect primary data before changing the packaging. Secondary data will help Tic Tac find the trend in sales after changing the packaging. This will save Tic Tac a lot of time and provide them with the risks and benefits of changing the packaging. Consequently, Tic Tac can also continue to collect primary data. Collecting primary data will help the company know about the current needs and desires of the customers and how changing the packaging might affect their buying decision. The company can also give away free samples to the existing customers to test if they like the new packaging. Furthermore, the customers can be interviewed over the phone or fill out surveys online for feedback purposes. Surveys can be open-ended which will collect their opinion or they can be scaled based to test which packaging was the most favorable.

In conclusion, I would say changing the packaging and adding several product lines will produce the best results for Tic Tac. Although there are risks related to it, Tic Tac will be able to gather new customers and enhance their customer base. This might lead to losing old customers who prefer the same packaging but nonetheless, following the same trend of products and packaging will lead them to collapse against their competitor in the long
