Why is history always written by a white man’s perspective instead of a black man’s perspective? The European colonization of Africa is always written about by white people instead of black people, when the injustice that occurred was against the Africans and not the Europeans. A man who went against all odds and wrote about the colonization of Africa from an African perspective was Chinua Achebe, this man wrote about the colonization and he really let people know the emotional toll this colonization had on the people of Africa, and the suffering it left on African people and their culture. He wrote a book called Things Fall Apart and it is about a man who was a successful warrior and farmer who has a terrible past which led to who is today and this has affected the way his mind deceive him to think that people will see him a different way if he did this or that. This essay tells how Chinua Achebe had achieve his goal, how he goes in depth and beauty in the Igbo people and how he depict them as human with human dignity and failings.

In Chapter 12, he describe the funeral ceremony of a warrior name Ezedu and he describes how the men’s dance, fires off their guns, the egwugwu spirits appear from the underworld, and it basically describes how they celebrate the death of a fellow Umuofia’s warrior .This was a very good point of how human fails because during the funeral ceremony, Okonkwo made a careless mistake because he fired his weapon one piece of an iron went into Ezedu’s son and this caused him to be banish because of this careless mistake.
