Worst job When famous clergyman Thomas Fuller said” All things are difficult before they are easy”. (Fuller) must have been speaking about some of the work he did in his life and I can see why try picking up a trash bag covered in maggots that has rotted dog feces with a little bit of old distilled beer mixed on the inside of it and let me know how good you feel about yourself. After that you may have to pick up five hundred heavy bags of garbage in one day and that will take all of the energy you had. Well, this is all a part of what it is to be a Wilkes-Barre City Public Works employee which was one of the worst jobs I have ever had. Cat litter by itself is heavy; however, when you add trash it gets much worse. You should try picking up ninety five pounds of cat poop. This is a perfect recipe for disaster or just a couple of ruptured discs in your back. I have always loved those wonderful college kids that decided that one hundred beer bottles constitutes trash instead of recyclable. These guys just make the job that much better so hats off to you guys. Good work, way to go and beat the hell out of the working man. Trash isn’t the only thing a public works employee picks up during his day; for example the mayor would send us down to city hall to do the repairs that were needed in the building. Well this one particular day was much worse than previous days. They sent us with two reciprocating saws to cut the radiators loose in city hall so they could scrap them for some money.
