There are three models of consultation. The Triadic-Dependent Model follow traditional consultation in which the consultant gives advices to the consultee and then the consultee is the one to help the student/client. Therefore, the helpseeker/consultee acts as the middle ground. Bergan and Krattochwill believes that behavior consultation would apply under this model by the behavior expert to help the parent/teacher assist students’ behavior (Erford, 2015). Kahn used a solution-focused model that was based on intimal structure, consultation goals, examine exceptions, deciding on a solution, and summarizing. The Collaborative-Dependent model is the middle ground of the three models in which the consultant is still the expert, but the helpseeker’s opinion and experiences with the student is used together to form an assistance plan. Schein’s process model solves problems by look at: communication patterns, group member roles, problem solving procedures, group norms, leadership, and intergroup cooperation (Erford,205). The third model, Collaborative-Interdependent model is used for complex cases in which the school, community, student’s family, and possibly the student works together as equal participants.
