“Don’t forget”. “Don’t forget what?”, Dan said to Dan with a smile.
For almost a decade these two have been sharing smiles with each other, but now have something fantastic to smile about, their second and first full band CD entitled “Don’t Forget”. The two polar opposites sat straight legged and cool on the leather couch. As an Italian guy and an Englishman respectively, the two band together to bring you some of the best up and coming bluegrass in the state and country. Dan Carlucci and Dan Tressler are two Dans born to play music together, and The String Fingers Band is their brainchild. Bluegrass reinvented never sounded so tasty. Soon after recording and producing their own album, “String Fingers” became “The String Fingers Band”, with the addition of Ryan McAdams (stand-up bass), David Kaye (banjo, dobro, steel pedal) and Rob Bonnacorso (drums and percussion). “If the other three were here with us right now they would tell you that this is the finest group of musicians that any of us have had a chance to play with. For some reason it just all falls into place, and tells us we should keep at this thing,” said Carlucci. The three new members all bring something interesting to the table; Rob is the Rock and Roller, Ryan brings in the jazz aspect and David who brings the newest sound to this melting pot of music, supplies the steel country guitar. "I have played with many bands before, but the consistency of the String Fingers' musical drive is what makes the difference for me" said Tressler. "I have never had so much fun and success than co-writing music with Dan Carlucci. We first started writing together on a car ride to a bluegrass festival and that was the foundation of what we are building …show more content…
They also find themselves playing gigs in Boston, Burlington, and all around the upper east coast. They recently have been booked to play at Nectars Restaurant, a music hot spot in Burlington, Vermont. Nectars is the Toads Place of the north if you will, and famous American rock band Phish got their start there. Kung Fu another local band from the Fairfield County area has also been booked to play there, proving that the community is cranking out some great music.
After meeting up with Rob Bonaccorso at Cranbury Park in Wilton, he had this to say amongst the amazing scenery, “Its beautiful music. It’s the most beautiful music you can play, and it’s so fun. We go to a show, and we are there to play music, seriously, it's our job," he said. "We read the crowd, try a few things out and stick with the genre that's the best fit for our
Ringing in the New Year, we’ve chosen an individual who has created his own music and created interesting remixes of other songs over the course of (now) 16 years. We enjoy the twists he plays on his music and admire his efforts to take his music to live performance stage. Local to Brick Township, NJ, Brian Stewart (DJversion666) started out, born and raised, in Evansville Indiana, playing in a multitude of bands, playing bass and/or singing various genres of music. Upon moving to Nashville, he has done studio work, laying down bass tracks for commercials and advertisements. Continuing down the path of music Stewart attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He combines various genres and ties them all together with an industrial sound.
The Dave Matthews Band has been a musical power house for years. They have meshed together almost every type of music together to create their extremely unique sounds and attractiveness towards their music. Dave Matthews, lead singer and guitarist from South Africa has put together a band that no one will ever be able to create again. Dave picked four extremely talented and unique sounding men to join his band and together they have created some amazing music. The members of the band include Stefan Lessard on bass, Boyd Tinsley on violin, Leroi Moore on saxophone and one of the best drummers in the world, Carter Beauford. Together these men will one day leave behind a similar reputation as one of the all time greatest "jam" bands of time.

The Remlinger brothers, Sonny and Joseph have stepped up their game with fellow band mates Ben Bluml and Adam Smith. Adam is a great blend of skill and a spirited personality rounding out the band’s image. Ben is concealed beneath his hair and is rather quiet adding a little mystery to the musician’s behavior. The sweet Remlinger’s are Southern gentleman and are certainly charming. When the foursome is performing at each gig they are showing how quickly they are improving and coming together as a band. In a city where every other neighbor seems to be in a band, one can foresee this band is actually finding their niche.
George Helmholtz, as the head of the music department at Lincoln High School, is very determined with his regular students and the gifted musicians of the band. Each semester and year at school he dreams of “leading as fine a band as there was on the face of the earth. And each year it came true”. His certainty that it was true was because he believed there was no greater dream than his. His students were just as confident and in response, they played their hearts out for them. Even the students with “no talent played on guts alone” for Helmholtz.
The Yardbirds are famous for acquiring some of the greatest blues- based guitarists of their time period. The initial launch of this English band began in the early 1960’s. The Yardbirds weren’t as famous as other bands during the 60’s, but they established the initiation that the guitar would have on other musicians. The original band members of the Yardbirds were Keith Ref, Chris Dreja, Paul Samwell- Smith, Jim McCarty, and Anthony Topham (Wenner, Jann S.). They became known as “inventors,” one of their inventions being the “rave-up,” a blues rhythm. Throughout the 60’s, this became the groundwork for all of rock music. Other bands such as Led Zeppelin, Cream, and Jeff Beck Group are all derived from three of the most dominant guitarists: Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck. Many styles of music never would have been produced if it weren’t for the Yardbirds, these including: “garage- rock, hard- rock,...
Through out history, music has played a big role. It has let people communicate and others release their creative minds. Throughout the life of music, instruments have made it happen. The guitar has become one of the most popular of all instruments. In fact, almost every band heard on the radio has a lead guitar accompanying the vocals. Thanks to the greats like B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Andres Segovia, and Eric Clapton the guitar has been made the lead instrument in much of music. With contributions from each one of these legendary players, the guitar is used in a variety of styles; heavy metal to classical.
Jimmy Page played guitar, Robert Plant was the vocalist, John Paul Jones played bass guitar and the keyboard, and John Bonham beat the drums. The group had the complete set up for a band right off the start. They produced their first record in thirty hours to complete their deal with the old Yardbirds. They toured Scandinavia for awhile also to complete their obligations to the Yardbirds.

Although no one person can claim to have invented bluegrass music its humble beginnings can be traced to one band that took advantage of the popular new phonograph. This band called “Bill Mo...
Every musician distinctly remembers the first time they set foot on stage to perform for an enthusiastic audience. Stage fright usually disappears as the musician feeds off the crowd’s energy. Moments in the spotlight causes a person to act differently and develops his or her stage presence. I agree with Bloom when he says that punk rock creates an unforgettable buzz. For example, Jason Butler of a hardcore band called letlive. is infamous for his outrageous onstage antics. These include smashing instruments, stagediving, and fighting with security guards. As the crowd gets louder, he gets crazier. Bloom’s conclusion can be based on how the punk rock genre is commonly operated.
