The Stereotypes Of God

Labels…

Everyone has a label given by someone… the jock, the nerd, the freak, the popular, the outcast, the new kid. But we don’t need those labels! So many people take what others say as gospel. They get it in their head that they’re a specific stereotype when they aren’t! We are constantly being judged and being told we are imperfect and that we are never going to be good enough! We feel as if we have to live up to everyone else’s expectations and standards but not GOD’S! He is the important one here!

How many times have you stereotyped someone else?

Judging, this is a tough one not to do, but how many times do you catch yourself judging over the slightest things?

We have no right to judge or label because we as humans are not in the position to judge. What is the point of judging or labeling anyways? Is it to make people feel bad about themselves or because that’s what you see? When I was in elementary school I was known as the school bully; but that is what people saw in me because that’s all I would show! My sister was known as the cussing Christian! Again that’s all she wanted to show! We both wanted to be validated by people. The only person we need to be accepted by is God.

So I want you to write on a piece of paper all the things you have been called and what stereotype people have put you as. When you write it down I want you to grab another sheet of paper and I want you to write down the things God wants you to be. Compare them then throw the stereotype paper away and forget every label and name you’ve ever been called. You are no longer that person you are now what God wants you to
