The character I have chosen to analyze from Canterbury Tales is the Squire. The Squire is the Knight’s son, and is described very well. In Canterbury Tales, the Squire’s appearance, personality, and motives are very descriptive, especially his personality. The equivalent of this Squire will soon be described, as well as the Squire himself. There are very limited details from Canterbury Tales when it comes to the Squire’s appearance. For example, “The Prologue” states that the Squire has locked of curls that are pressed. In addition, the Squire is also moderate length, strong, and wears a gown that is short, but has long and wide sleeves. The gown is also embroidered with red and white flowers to try to win over someone’s grace. Even though the appearance traits are very limited and not described as well, there is enough to base on for what he looks like. There are many personality traits that are described for the Squire. The Squire likes to either sing or play his flute all day, likes to write or recite poems, write in general, make songs, draw, joust, and dance. Both are very nice men and they crave someone to love them and to be able to love them back. The Squire and Ed are also musically inclined, with the Squire playing the flute and Ed being able to play the guitar. Ed and the Squire both also sing quite often, but Ed more so in front of bigger crowds than the Squire. Both men are also mid-20s, being able to write their own songs and reciting them to an audience. Ed and the Squire are also both red-headed, and their hair is curly. While the Squire has travelled mainly for being a cadet and the Knight’s son, Ed Sheeran has travelled mainly for his music.
