The Sound of Music is a most well- known musical movie from 1965, it was inspired by the story of Trapp Family, and the Sound of Music has rewritten by George Hurdalek which he only used the partial ideas by the biography and recreated a new romance story in 1939. There are many iconic clothes in this film. It might remind most of the people about the scene of Maria sew new outfits for Captain’s children, but I found Maria’s outfits are very interested when I looked soberly. At the beginning of the movie, when the main character- Maria appeared, while she is running around in the Alps, she is singing the song of “The sound of Music,” combined with video images of beautiful Austrian Alps, clear lakes and sunshine, this had combined both visual and auditory praise picturesque Austria. Also expressed the feeling of how people yearning to live in peace and love. Of course, as the title of “The Sound of Music,” Maria is the one who put music to everyone, but this movie touch people on the hidden deep love behind the music and the outfits that Maria made for children. The love for children, love for children, lover for motherland, everything embodied inside of Maria characteristic, Maria innocence, Captain patriotic, wisdom of convent. Throughout the entire film costumes, music, pictures, and dialogue, it promoted and purify mind of people. There is one quote in the movie said, “God close a door, a window opens somewhere else.” This particular dialogue impressed me a lot in real life. Therefore, I chose this movie to write about the costume, also I have a chance to watch this movie again and look closely to all the costumes that I had never recognized
