Throughout the history of Christianity there have existed an array of theological topics that have resulted in much debate. One of the biggest debates has been on the subject of sacramentality or sacraments. A sacrament is some type of symbol or sign that has an outward expression as well as a trait dealing with the spiritual. For example, one sacrament most individuals would agree upon is the act of baptism. The process of baptism is not simply to imitate Christ by being immersed in the physical element of water. Rather, according to Dr. Simon Oliver, the point of baptism is to go from a life of entrapment and sin to a life of renewal via the passage of water. Another major sacrament that scholars, critics, or Christians may agree upon is creation in which everything stems from. This large scale symbolic act is indeed a sign or event with high symbolic meaning that points to a greater spiritual meaning and being. However, what actually deems a sign of this nature a true sacrament. In the countless denominations, congregations may believe in two, three, four, or more sacraments. The Catholic church itself believes in seven sacraments. Yet, the Greek scholars believed there could be a number of sacraments found throughout the Christian doctrine. Personally, I am not adequate in knowledge to answer this question but after watching the video I believe there is a possibility for more than two but one must be careful when labeling a sign or symbolic act as a sacrament capriciously. Therefore, I cannot put a specific number on the amount of sacraments that actually exist. Nearly everything
