There have been periods during which the entire planet has been covered in ice and at another time it has been scorchingly hot and dry. In this regards, earth has experienced at least three major periods of long- term frigid climate and ice ages interspersed with periods of warm climate. The last glacial period which current glaciers are the result of it, occurring during the last years of Pleistocene, from approximately 110,000 to 10,000 years age (Clayton, 1997). Indeed, glaciers present sensitive indicators of climate change and global warming and by estimating and monitoring the dynamic evolution of these ice masses, several aspect of climate change impact on environmental phenomena can be revealed.

Deforestation can contribute to global warming because trees absorb carbon dioxide and when trees are removed the Earth loses its natural carbon storehouses. Phytoplankton consume CO2 through the photosynthesis process and transport it from the ocean’ surface to the deep. These sources eliminate 30-50% of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Humans´ responses to the consequences of the Industrial Revolution accurately depicted humanity and the stage of its evolution at that particular point in history. Humanity spoke out against the injustices they encountered as a result of the Industrial Revolution. Eventually, social theories emerged, that clearly depicted the power of the people to lead the world in the direction they desired. He had an idea that the amount of solar radiation that reaches higher latitudes could trigger an ice age or warm up the Earth. He believed that slow changes in the Earth’s orbit contributed to the amount of solar radiation reaching a particular latitude. By the end of the war, his first paper was published on the subject, and he began to expand upon his initial ideas. In 1941, he published Canon of Insolation of the Earth and Its Application to the Problem of the Ice Ages, describing his theories about the Earth’s orbit and tilt which are now referred to as the Milankovitch Cycles.
Global warming extremists voice that man’s factories, automobiles, and industrial activity produce enough carbon dioxide to cause the global temperature to warm.
