Houlihan and Lindsay (2013) described community hubs as services which are provided through the development of infrastructure. This means, community hubs are striving to bring together organisations and companies involved in sport within a facility to work together and aim to become stronger. There is numerous purpose behind a community sport hub, such as recruiting more people, therefore coaches and officials become more skilled and it is also a pathway to develop talented athletes, however the main reason would be to increase participation in sport which can help urban recovery. However, this is beginning to change because it has been realised that CSH’s can highly decrease the environmental issues, therefore it is no wonder there is a strong link between CSH and UR because as (Thornley, 2002) described, there is a strong competitiveness between the cities and the business because everyone is looking towards investing in the sport industry, especially in the football leagues since it is a big business. Suggestions from the UK Policy Action Team 10 report has been made and it stated that sport can highly contribute to improve the communities on a few key indicators such as health, employment, crime and education (Hall, 2004). The strategy which has the most impact so far is the planning and delivering of major events. The reason for this is because it can significantly help to increase confidence levels in local communities and it is possible to combine tourism strategies with urban planning which is great for the economy (García, 2004). If such success can be seen by executing major events, there is a huge opportunity that sport hubs can also help the economy and the environment. Another link between CSH and UR according to (Gröpel, Wegner & Schüler, 2016) is that participating in exercise health programs and related sports can always give the opportunity for further achievements.
