Rays of light shone through the gaps in the crisp leaves, covering the floor in patches of sunlight. Long branches intertwined creating a golden canopy over the path with old trees bordering the fields acting like guards, creating serenity by muffling the sound of the busy city. With each step I took, the metal keys in my pocket bounced, synchronising to my every move. I was finally coming home. Captivated by the scenery and caught in my thoughts, I didn’t take notice of the clumsy stranger heading towards me. Before I was able to move out of the way, the stranger stumbled into me, making me drop my mango smoothie all over the dull grey footpath.
