The Renaissance, which is a word from the French for “rebirth”, was the term that was created in the nineteenth century to describe the revival of arts under the impact of models from ancient Rome and Greece. The development of the economy in Italy also provided the condition for the Renaissance. During the period between 1000 to 1300, Italians initiated a commercial revolution in their country and all over Europe. As a result of innovations in accounting, banking, insurance, company structure, and commercial law, Italians invented commercial capitalism. After that, merchants achieved respect and a prominent social and political position.
