The Modern Revolution has brought many positive advancements to the world and its citizens. This period of time allowed for growth of the human race in many aspects like innovation and population. Some people may argue that the Modern Revolution only caused destruction to the world through factors such as war and global warming. However, without this vital revolution taking place, civilizations would not have been able to advance or become more developed. The Modern Revolution allowed for population and life expectancies to grow, new innovations to be made, and for vaccines to be created. With the start of the Modern Revolution, the overall population and life expectancy of the world has been growing exponentially over the past couple hundred years. Ronald Lee, who is an economic professor at the University of California claimed that in the 1700's, the world had a population of 0.68 billion people and many were only expected to live until their late twenties. More currently in 2000, the population had risen to about 6.07 billion and peoples were expected to live until their late sixties (Text 1). Since the 1800s, many of these innovations such as the electric battery, light bulbs, television, computers, and credit cards have all been invented (Text 4). This means in just over 200 years, these inventions have been created and are still being used today in the world. For example, machines like the electric telegraph made it easier to send messages and allowed responses to be sent back faster. Other more luxury inventions like the credit card helps an individual to buy items without having actual money on hand.
