One of the most important meals of the day is breakfast. Breakfast if the fuel needed to move throughout the day. However, many people skip breakfast all together. There are many reasons why people justify skipping breakfast: no time to make breakfast, they are not hungry in the morning or they are on a diet. Breakfast should not be skipped because it is an important part of nutrition. Instead of skipping breakfast, the key to a successful sport diet is breakfast because it off more energy, helps with controlling weight and it helps maintain a heathier eating schedule.

The problem with skipping breakfast is that it does not give the person the proper nutrition needed. In study Breakfast Eating Habits Among Medical Student conducted by E. M. Ackuku-Dogbe and B. Abaidoo, the research done among medical students at the University of Ghana Medical School, Korle Bu-Accra wanted to see the eating habits of medical students and its that effects it has on attention span and fatigue. The problem with skipping breakfast is that, “the medical students, both pre-clinical and clinical, skip breakfast and this may affect their studies adversely,” (Dogbe, Abaidoo 66). Many people have this idea that eating breakfast contributes to gaining weight but that could be far from the truth. Nancy Clark mentions that, “if you are tempted to save calories by skipping breakfast, remember that you don’t gain weight by skimping on breakfast. You do gain weight if you skip breakfast, get too hungry, and then overindulge at night,” (Clark 67). In reality, skipping breakfast just effect people appetite in the long run. A study conducted on teenagers by HJ Leidy and EM Racki, they came upon a connection between skipping breakfast and weight control: “These findings suggest that the addition of a protein-rich breakfast might be an effective strategy to improve appetite control in young people,” (Leidy, Racki 1). With that being said, it is important that everyone, not just active people, should know that it is important to eat breakfast. However, another pro of eating breakfast helps maintain a healthy eating schedule. A healthy eating schedule is the times and amount of food a person should be eating. For example, starting off with a good breakfast allows us to keep a balance the food eaten later. The body starts to learn what time it should be eating, which benefits by keeping the body fueled, more alert and less moodiness. A nutritious breakfast has more pros then cons.
