With the elections being a prevalent part of American society for the past year, there has been much debate as to who should be our next president of the United States and how they can steer us into the right direction. Endorsing a leader can be challenging, especially when social media has repeatedly bashed all the possible candidates equally. However, when the time and effort has been put into doing research on exactly what each candidate stands for, and what they can do for our country, the choice is obvious. Hillary Clinton has many good values and has previous experience which indicate she can be the leader that brings positive change to all Americans for the next four to eight years.

With her future plans to try and move this country forward and create progress, make her capable of being a great leader for the nation. On her campaign website, she states her future plans which include giving tax breaks to working families struggling to make ends meet ("Hillary Clinton's Plan for a Fair Tax System"). Elaborating, she adds that she wants to add a relief to those paying out-of-pocket costs for health care and for those caring for sick or elderly citizens. She also stated that she wants to pay for aspiring investments while remaining financially responsible ("Hillary Clinton's Plan for a Fair Tax System"). Clinton provides illustrations such as advancing well-paying jobs, striving for debt-free college, and other measures to create equality for everyone. Both of those examples are what democrats and myself believe in. Her previous voting and working experience show that she can make these changes and will steer our country to success. Tony Nitti, a Tax Partner in Withum Smith + Brown’s National Tax Service Group, summarized Clinton’s pervious actions well. He documented that she voted against the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001, otherwise known as the Bush tax cuts, named after George W. Bush (Nitti). The purpose of the bill was to reduce the tax rates for all the taxpayers. Continuing through his article, he stated that while Hillary was running for president against Barack Obama in 2008, she proposed that taxpayers who earn less than $250,000 get a tax break, and making college and health care more affordable (Nitti). She has the same ideologies over the years, which shows that she will most likely continue to have the same views.
