“In our everyday lives we are constantly endangered with violence rather than be from gangs, robbers, or rapist; it is rightfully just to believe that all methods of protecting ourselves is morally right”(qtd.by NRA). In this modern society we can no longer use swords and arrows to keep the peace of our great civilization. We the people of the Unites States must stand up for our 2nd Amendment “rights of the people to keep and bear arms” to better protect ourselves by allowing mankind the full opportunity to carry a concealed handgun.

You fear that this will only lead to more violence with gangs, robber, and rapists. It is true that “gun carrying is common among criminals, particularly criminally-involved youth, gang members and those involved in the illicit drug traded”(qtd. Vernick). Yet it is also been proven that “criminals firing at someone typically have a 10 % hit ratio” (qtd.Thompson)compared to that of a trained citizen that has a hit ratio from 17 to 34 % “(qtd.Thompson).Thus giving us the upper hand from these criminals. The Supreme Court have actually been helping the cause of concealed handguns by allowing people to get permits for their weapons which means for all the citizens of the United States that “you must be 21 years old, provide evidence of having satisfactorily completed a gun safety program, and cannot have a felony conviction, history of mental illness, or record of alcohol or drug abuse”(qtd.Lott,Damien). As prominent academic James Q. Wilson suggested in the New York Times Magazine that “it was unrealistic and undesirable to rid the country of guns to curb violence; instead, he advocated cracking down on those who carried guns unlawfully. People are constantly worried that children will grow up in an environment where displaying firearms is considered a routine aspect of daily life. To that I ask why not? Why is it bad to have kids understand what a gun is or how to use it properly? You see I see it as the parents just don’t understand how to be safe with guns and that is why they are crippling the youth of our nations. Kids today need to be taught safety guide lines for guns. The parents need to understand as well you can’t constantly live in fear of an object. Yes it can hurt you but most of the time it is because the person carrying the weapon is a moron that just bought it and has no idea how to be safe with it. That is why people should provide evidence of having satisfactorily completed a gun safety program so that they fell safe. When the parents feel safe they can teach their kids to be safe and guns are no longer a fearful object to hate and try to get rid of and instead is a protective instrument that all know how to use
