Yet still pay taxes and they form a part of society, many of them can be classmates, colleagues or friends. Often times they do not get the same rights or opportunities that United States citizens do -even though they have lived here for most of their lives. One of the biggest victims of this broken immigration system are the kids of parents who came here without documentation and who brought their kids along hoping to find a better life. These kids live in fear of not being able to do what other kids their age do and that is why DACA has become a lifeline for people in this situation. DACA stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and even though they pay a very high fine to be able to work here legally, it does not grant them citizenship status. The Bush Center states that “ DACA recipients who, despite paying into the system, are entitled to very few state or federal benefits. Higher rates of health insurance mean less uncompensated care, which benefits all of us because uncompensated care is paid for largely through public funds” and them being able to work for less care ultimately helps out the economy. DACA is a program that brings people together because it gets rid of the obstacles that would segregate the working opportunities and it helps stitch this country

And Equal Protection prohibits discrimination based on race or national origin. An alien's rights to free speech and religious freedom are protected under the First Amendment. The Refugee Act of 1980 gives certain aliens the right to political asylum in the U.S. New immigrants to our country are not a scourge as some politicians claim. In fact, they can help solve many of our economic and social problems. Therefore when a child is born of illegal parents, the child should not be refused welfare. In other words, the child should not be treated as a second class citizen. In fact since it was born in the United States, he or she is to be considered a United States citizen because that is exactly what he or she is.
Foster care is a system in which a minor has been placed into a ward, group home, or
can possibly be separated from their parents. Children suffer from their parents getting deported and not having a family member or guardian that can look out for them. Most families don’t have other family members in the U.S. because they come from other countries like Latin America and from Mexico. That leads for children to not have a second home to go to but to be put in an orphanage home. The children that get separated from their parents suffer a lot. They will no longer get to be with their fellow loved ones especially their parents. It’s not fair for parents to get deported and for their children to be left alone and not have someone to look for them or care. Who knows what will be next for those kids that are left without their parents. Kids suffer and are left with nothing but to hope one day they will reunite with their parents once
Supreme Court Justice John Roberts once said, “It’s a sordid business this divvying us up by race.” (Will “Blood”). In 1978 an act was passed in congress to preserve Indian tribal populations; it allowed tribes to terminate adoptions and place Indian children in Indian homes. The Indian Child Welfare Act has many positive impacts, including the promotion of strong Native-American identity, but there are also drawbacks, such as the lack of concern for the children’s safety and how they’re used as pawns to keep the tribes intact, no matter what the cost is for the kids.
There are over twelve million undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Many came to America to work, go to school, or be reunited with family members who are already residing here. Most migrants want to work and pursue the “American dream”. There are many barriers for residents to achieving success at the work and life balance. The immigrants fall back on public assistance to support them.
Currently, there are 11.7 million undocumented immigrants in the United States; 6 million of those immigrants are Mexican-born (Preston). Within that undocumented population are individuals who were brought to the States as children. These individuals have grown up in the American culture and consider themselves American, but struggle with being treated as second class citizens due to their undocumented status. On June fifteenth of 2012, the Obama Administration announced the executive order Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). This order will allow immigrants who were brought illegally to the U.S. as children to apply for work permits and avoid deportation (Hennessey and Bennett). President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is not only beneficial to it applicants but also to the United States as a whole.
Many women who carry unexpected or unwanted children are left to decide between keeping the child, adoption, abortion and maybe foster care. Most of the time the decision is just between adoption and abortion. In that case, the mother is losing the child either way. Most of the time choosing adoption or foster care would be a better choice than abortion because the pregnancy would end by giving life instead of death. Adoption and foster care are an opportunity for people who wish to be parents, but are not able to have a child of their own to finally become parents or people who have children of their own, but want to add-on to their family.
