Building Home Take a walk. Most likely there will be buildings and bridges, roads and trees, and, of course, people, bussiling about their busy day, hanging out in a coffee shop, or driving home from work. On that walk there would also be one glaringly obvious problem most of society has gone oblivious to. The homeless. Most of society today tends to write them off as beggars and bums who chose this life. However, that is not always true, “Homelessness is caused by a variety of factors, including unemployment , low-paying jobs, rising costs of living, and high costs of education and medical care, as well as mental illness and substance abuse.”(Helping the Homeless). “Brightly painted "micro homes" are designed for people suffering from homelessness” (Nashville Six Brightly). This is a simple solution to a widespread trouble, however, not all cities have the space for communities like this. The best answer to this would be to take up abandoned buildings and section homeless “apartments” where they can go, find a roommate, and live there rent free. The rent could be slowly raised as they begin to earn until they can eventually pay for everything themselves and move on to find better housing. This solution is great because while they find work they can have an actual place to themselves; even better, it slowly returns them to being able to pay for themselves and their expenses. Homeless literally means that a person does not have a home and the only way to solve that problem is to give them a home somehow. Whether it is given to them or they have to earn it, the homeless will stay homeless until they have a home. As a government and as a society this is a problem that needs to be solved together. Nothing will change until that is done, together it needs to be decided on and together it needs to be put into place. The only way to solve homelessness is to completely put an end to it, the same way in every state and every city, otherwise there will always be places were the problem remains.
