Niccolo Machiavelli was an influential writer in the Renaissance. His most notable work is The Prince, which discusses the way that a ruler should act, as compared to how they were performing. Presented in this article are the life and works of Machiavelli. Machiavelli was born in Florence (a local), and his parents were named Bernardo di Niccolo Machiavelli and Bartolomea di Stefano Nelli. Since it was a problematic time, as popes and other countries were battling it out for pieces of land, and much of politics were unstable. He learned Latin, rhetoric, and grammar. He did not learn Greek, even though our city, Florence, is a center of humanist learning. Shortly after, he took political offices and carried out many diplomatic missions. These
