A comparison can be made to show the advantages and disadvantages using two different mediums of The Outsiders. The novel and the movie had many things in common. The movie is a visual so after reading the book and actually seeing those things in the book actually happen, (like Dally getting shot) it was more emotional. In the book, there was not very much expression. The movie really brought it to life with the actors emotion. The movie felt more powerful because you can see the book really happening. We got attached to the characters from reading the book, so when we see the visual of the book it was more heartbreaking.
