The Other Side of the Bridge and Road Ends by Mary Lawson, are two well written novels that explore the importance of effectively coping with adversities. Each character faces their own adversities and challenges throughout the course of the novel. In all cases, characters were not able to overcome their adversities. Their failures and lack of strong choices are what led them to being in an unhappy state. Characters tend to utilize isolation as a strategy to overcome their challenges, as they isolate themselves from their family, profession, and physically as well.
