The Mysteries of Area 51
Area 51 has been the center of controversy for many years. Its existence was denied by the government , but it cannot be explained why 200 or more jeeps patrol a nonexistent area. Many factors contribute to the mystery of the place known as area 51. Aliens and aircrafts are two main theories that encompass the mystery of area 51.
Area 51 is the unofficial name for the United States military installation popular for UFO folklore. it has been stated that “UFOlogists have speculated that the government uses area 51 to experiment with extraterrestrials and their space craft’s”(What goes on in area 51?). The mysterious area 51 is located in Nevada about 85 miles northwest of Las Vegas. (Hodeirne). This is a very remote and secretive area with not much around it. this explains why many rumors circulate about the area. It lies within a U.S. air force installation known as The Nevada test and training range.(Hodeirne). They admit to the existence of the area but no information is leaked of the secrets that lie inside. Many people question if they are developing futuristic technology, like death rays, flying cars, or solar panels to generate electricity at a cheaper price.(National review). although people speculate, no one really knows the areas purpose. Not much is known about the area but, the government has admitted area 51 existing, and revealed some details about what its used for.(National Review). (what goes on in area 51?). as well as this, research showed no evidence of alien life, the only thought was that area 51 was a secret base used to test spy planes.(New York times). some even believe area 51 is alleged to be a UFO landing site where flying saucers land for lack of spare parts.(What goes on in area 51?).
Area 51 puzzles many people. The mystery behind area 51 can be summed up in two theories: aliens and aircrafts. aircrafts being tested in the area most likely account for “spaceship “ sightings in the area. along with this, though many people believe aliens are associated with abductions, missing people, etc. no true proof is given. No one really knows the true purpose of area 51, aliens or not area 51 is full of mystery and controversy.
Located 90 miles north of Las Vegas sits a high-security military base widely known as Area 51. For decades people have had suspicions about whether or not alien life forms exist and if so, whether or not they are imprisoned at Area 51. This curiosity has been fueled by not only interest in extraterrestrials, but also reported sightings of foreign life forms not from planet Earth. The conspiracies, other life forms exist and are being kept at military base, have largely been fueled by the government’s involvement in nearly all reported sightings. Area 51 not only has discovered other forms of life from outer space but also is most likely conducting strange experiments there.
What really happened over the summer in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico? People have debated this topic countless times. Despite all of the deviations of what happened, there is a general timeline. Sometime during the months of June and July 1947, an aircraft landed in Mac Brazel’s ranch; Brazel proceeded to tell Sheriff George Wilcox. He sent a member of the Roswell Army Air Field base to look at the wreckage on Brazel’s ranch. This person took some of the debris back to the base for further inspection. On July 8, 1947, the newspapers published stories about how someone found a flying saucer in New Mexico. However, the government told the newspapers to report that it was merely a weather balloon that had crashed. After that, everybody simply accepted the story and dropped the topic. Throughout that story, many pieces of evidence went untold to the media. There were numerous pictures that went unreleased. Many affidavits went unnoticed and nobody paid attention to inconsistencies in the government’s justifications. Because of explicative photographs, several eyewitness accounts, and contradictory government explanations, there is extensive proof that the government concealed an alien landing in Roswell, New Mexico.
Conspiracy theories accuse others of a cover-up by secret planning. They may be based on a hunch, or even backed by evidence. To the curious mind, they bring about unanswered questions that have attracted the attention of many people throughout history. Among some of the more popular theories are the assassination of President John F. Kennedy; the death of Princess Diana; alien encounters in Roswell, New Mexico; and the idea that Elvis may still be alive. Perhaps the most intriguing theory, because of our neighboring location, is the underground bunker and seemingly strange characteristics at the Denver airport.
There is no doubt that an elaborate underground base exist below the Denver International Airport. What actually is going on down below in this base however is a mystery. When taking a closer look at this airfield it is evident that something weird is going on. “While the most extreme claim maintains that a massive underground facility exists below the airport where an alien race of reptilian humanoids feeds on missing children while awaiting the date of government-sponsored rapture” (Maher 4). This extreme claim just shows what the human mind can conceive when coincidence and the unknown meet. The research is done, is there a conspiracy or is it just being blown out of proportion.
The CIA’s clandestine operation known as Project MKUltra, inadvertently transformed the use of LSD from being a highly classified method of mind control into a massively popular drug that, in part, defined the counterculture movement of the 1960’s. While the CIA had no intention to supply the American public with the most potent hallucinogen known at the time , their poorly ran mission to create a foolproof truth-drug created an LSD following and changed it into a prominent entheogen. At that time, issues like the threat of an apocalyptic war with the USSR to the horrifying reports from the Vietnam War to the struggle for civil rights pervaded the minds of many young, disillusioned Americans who then sought an escape from their harsh reality. When they discovered a new and legal (until 1968) psychedelic drug thanks to public advocates like Ken Kesey or Timothy Leary, a massive demand was created, with roughly 2,000,000 individuals admitting to have tried it by the end of 1970 .
The creation of Area 51 began in April of 1955, when a Lockheed test pilot, Tony LeVier, searched for a remote site to test the U-2. Grooms Lake is chosen as the location for the runway. By August of 1955, the U-2 makes its first flight from Grooms Lake. That was only the beginning for test flights from Area 51. In April 1962, the first A-12 Blackbird was tested at Groom Lake. February 1982, the F-117A Stealth fighter takes off for the first time. All other test flights have not been released to the public, but that doesn't mean they don't occur. However, they are, in no way, shape or form, alien test flights. Nearly all of the evidence that supports the alien spacecraft theory, is without backing, or solid information. Also, the US government played on the UFO theories to hide their own testing plans. Today, Area 51 is the home to the latest top secret aircraft: the Aurora, among others Many of these aircraft, past and present, are able to perform incredible feats in the sky. Some so unbelievable, that they could be mistaken for alien spacecraft by fanatics of extra-terrestrials. However, based on the falsified eye-witness accounts of Area 51, and declassification of military spy planes like the U-2 and F-117A Stealth fighter, I am here to tell you that these flights are not alien crafts, but actually secret military aircraft.
The Roswell UFO incident is considered to be the most controversial and well known capture of an alien craft and its occupants. It is still unknown to the public and the United States Military still maintains that the crash was that of a secret balloon. Information has been concealed and misinterpreted since the incident, the people may never know the true story of Roswell. Or if the military press release really is true and all that truly happened was a crashed surveillance balloon.
“In total, six airplanes and 27 men appear to have vanished” (How). On December 5th of 1945, five U.S. Navy bombers went missing without a trace of why. Later a rescue plane was sent to search for the plane and the survivors, but those planes disappeared as well. That incident is one of the most famous and well known disappearances in the area (How). The Bermuda triangle is an area in the Atlantic Ocean which many people believe mysterious disappearances have taken place. It reaches Puerto Rico, Florida, and Bermuda in a triangle shape that covers approximately 500,000 square miles (History). The mysterious disappearances in the Bermuda triangle are myths as evidenced by people who travel the area safely every day, there is no scientific proof of the mysteries, and there are scientific reasons why people have disappeared.
There are many conspiracies that people say have happened at the Roswell crash in the summer of 1947 in Roswell New Mexico. Nobody knows what really happened at the crash in Roswell New Mexico but, many people say that the thing that had crashed there was a UFO and or a flying saucer which mean there being aliens. Even after 50 years the people still do not know what happened and for everybody that doesn’t know were going to go deeper into what really happened. This incident had caused a lot of chaos with the Air force and the people.
I went onto Google and typed in ‘Is the government hiding aliens?’ and around 625,000 results appeared in 0.74 seconds. I clicked on the second result which took me to www.dailymail.com.uk which talked about how an old defense minister claims that aliens have visited earth before and that the government is most definitely hiding them. The next website I explored was www.telegraph.com and the value of their website was very important. I learned that Area 51 supposedly does not do research on aliens, but a NASA worker claims that there is aliens the government is hiding. This information will definitely help me answer my research question later on in my
Most people today believe area 51 is where the government store, and do research on the “alien ships”. Because of its high security, warning signs, and even to the black armored trucks with armed men watching your every move as you approach the signs that say “ no one without a high security clearance can go beyond this point” It has been the main focus of the alien theories. But what about the other bases? Such as, Pine Gap (Australia), Kapustin Yar (Russia), HAARP Research Station (Alaska), Porton Down (UK), and most recently the Dulce bases (A.K.A.) Area 52. All of these bases you can find loads of information on except for the new Dulce base. Was area 51 a cover up for the real Alien base? “There is no concrete evidence to this day about Dulce. It is alleged to be located near the Colorado-New Mexico border town of Dulce. Why can we not locate it? Because it is located underground. Completely Secluded area under the Archuleta Mesa” (Top 5 secret). While there is little to no information on this base, there are a few articles that support the Dulce base is the “secret” that the government has been trying to hide away from society for many years. Whether or not the Roswell incident truly involved a UFO remains unclear. How ever, the military cover-up only served to fuel the fire of our imaginations. Interest continues to grow, as questions remain unanswered. Even Bill Clinton has been quoted as saying “…If the United States Air Force did recover alien bodies, they didn’t tell me about it either, and I want to know”(qtd. in Wright 105).
The thought of government cover-ups have been long discussed. The government has always, in the past, tried to keep any sign of aliens, whether it be pictures from space, to crashes on earth, to a low or nonexistent level. Just recently has the government been harassed to the point where they actually gave us clues to alien existence. It has in some ways been believed that the government has worked in partnership with popular movie directors, to produce alien movies to ease the thought that we may not be alone. Such movies as ôThe Arrivalö and the ever popular ôIndependence Dayö are very good examples of well convincing alien movies. If this is true, they did a good job, because statistics state that 75% of people today believe that there is some kind of intelligent life forms besides ourselves in the universe. That is very convincing compared to the 20% whom believed 25 years ago. ô New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.ö (MacGowan 261)
Undoubtedly, with over 10 000 cases, the sheer amount of reported UFO sightings and abductions is startling. In July 1947, an airborne object crashed on a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico. Rancher Mac Braezel examined the debris which appeared to be mostly metallic and plastic scraps. However, it was damaged beyond identification of its origin. He brought some of the material to his neighbours who attempted burning it, cutting it, and yet, it would not be damaged. They also tried bending it, too which it would dent momentarily before peculiarly molding back to its original form. Mac hurriedly contacted the local sheriff, who then, in disbelief, contacted two military officers to the debris field, also in dubiety, they brought some of the material they had found to the Roswell Army Air Base. Shortly thereafter, another local along with some students on an expedition, discovered a disk-shaped aircraft about two miles from the debris field, which had four small humanoid bodies scattered around its vicinity....
Another idea is that UFO's are not really from other planets at all, but created right here on Earth. Supposedly Germans, Americans and Soviets started the 'Projekt Saucer' in Germany towards the end of World War II. During the war Germans sent ships to the Antarctic with equipment and plans for a massive underground structure. It is said that at the end of the war scientists and engineers who had been working on Projekt Saucer in Germany ended up in this underground structure, where even more advanced saucers were created. In a manner of thinking this is by far the scariest theory should it be proved correct, for it brings up more questions than it gives answers. What would people on Earth want to create spaceships for? Why keep it such a secret if everything is harmless? Maybe, if this theory is proved correct, it is better not to know the answers.
