Marie Kondo, a Japanese organizing consultant and author, sheds light on the notion that if a person were to love their clothes, whether it be expensive or not, they would be able to sustain that pride with himself everyday: “If you fold your clothes in the formal spark of joy, you can actually make the joy last longer.” Albeit some may argue that personality has no correlation with the way a person dresses, the fact of the matter is that clothing choice can influence the way one acts on a specific day.

Clothing and personality are of importance because they go hand in hand by keeping an individual satisfied on an everyday basis. Everyone has their own attitude and sense of style, but regardless of the type of personality and clothing, they can affect the individual and those around them. Due to the denotation that society tends to tag along with divergent styles, affects an individual in the way that it can either construct a day memorable for affirmative or pessimistic reasons. Nicole Cooley emphasizes this idea in her article, “The Language of Clothes”, by relaying the experience of a little girl who found herself to be unattractive; consequently, composing dreadful days. There came a moment, though where this girl decided to wear her grandmother’s aged clothing, and through this she was able to see herself through her grandmother's eyes, now viewing someone beautiful and worthy of living (Cooley). In life, a human experience numerous undertakings that may change their perspective negatively or positively on certain things. At times it may result in someone acting out of control, for say they lost a loved one that was close to them, it can result in someone losing their mind and acting in an insane way. Comparably to the way losing someone dear to you can affect your actions, the way humans dress can influence their personality. For example, Imani Briscoe states that occasionally people dislike their clothing due to the fact that it has no “wow” effect (Briscoe). If an individual were to wake up and dress themselves with basic clothing, it would place the individual in a cranky mood and as a result they would not be their usual self. As many may have experienced, sometimes people wake up and they put on clothes that they don’t genuinely have any interest in; therefore, the person goes about their day not feeling themselves because their attire does not represent their character and taste. As a result, a person will feel down throughout the day and they will behave differently by not socializing with those around them.
