Outline The Kidnap
1. Bert confronts Law (the head of a local gang) in a room full of gangsters. Law asks for the ransom, but Bert demands to see his son Troy before handing over the money. Law agreed, and we see Troy struggles with his mouth taped.
2. Flash back to earlier. After Bert kicking out the IT guy who comes to help him, Troy takes over the task of fixing his father’s computer.
He discovers the huge saving in Bert’s bank account and transfers $50,000 to his own account. He uses the money to gamble on horses and lose them all.
Law gives Troy a loan, but Troy loses it all again. Unable to pay the money back, Troy is kidnapped.
3.Jenny and Bert talks about Troy’s gambling addiction.
Jenny asks Bert to let Troy stay in Bert’s basement since it is inconvenient for her to
Jenny feels betrayed that Bert kept his fortune a secret.
The sibling both decide to get rid of Karen, so they can keep the money in the family and their mother the love of Bert’s life.

Armature
The story is about a old man learning that he has to let go of his dead wife and his children, but his children would not let him do that for their own benefits. It explores a family’s trauma when a family member passed away and how children can be insensitive and selfish enough to ignore their parent’s need fro intimacy and companionship.

The flashback helps to keep the story short and still provides enough information about the character’s motives and personalities. From hiding his relationship to confessing to her children, Bert finally realizes that his children will not never grow up if he don’t let them go.
