A watershed is the regions or area drained by a river, and stream. Watersheds are important because they are bodies of land that are used for drainage that can be used for drinking water that can either be used by humans and animals. Watersheds can be a vital necessity for the environment. A watershed can envelop big pieces of land or smaller pieces of land. The problem I chose is trash a-ton. In the 1970’s the lower poudre was mostly used as a garbage dump. This means that people are trashing the poudre valley walking area and river with trash and unnecessary waste. This will help the watershed because of the proximity that Northridge and the Poudre River share. This idea would work specifically outside the school in the student and staff parking lots near the lamp posts, and in the stadium near the exits. Keeping this system wouldn’t be an issue because it would be put in a place where there would be a high consistency of trash or garbage strewn. We would put in three systems like this for a bigger radius. There would be certain ways we could help this by putting trash cans new places like in front of the building because there isnt any and even when students get here theres times they do have some trash in their hands they just throw it on the ground and the wind just blows it around or it will get caught on a fence. Some of the products we would need would be such as a shovel and a way to pre-test it. The average price for a three in one trash collector is $698. A regular trash can without a dome is $99 on sale. The cost of one that is not on sale is $115. The way we are going to present to the City of Greeley is we are going to talk about our issue that is we don’t have enough recycling and trash cans on our campus at Northridge High
