The moon is much smaller than the earth is, in fact the earth is more than one quarter of the size of the earth. The fact that the moon much smaller means that there is much less gravity on the moon than we have on earth, though, there is still gravity on the moon. The amount of gravity on the moon is one sixth of the amount of gravity we have here on earth. On the moon, there are only two types of regions, however, despite the fact that there are just two regions, there is much more to the moon than just those two regions. Many things can be found on the moon, such as, craters, lava plains, and mountains.
The moons structure is challenging to be studied, there are several layers. The first layer of the moon, which is called …show more content…

The light that we see from the moon is the light of the sun reflectiong off of the moon. The moon acts like a mirror ro the sun, and does not actually have light of its own. The amount of light in which we see from the moon depends on which lunar phase we are in, as the moon orbits around the sun, which means at different times, we will see different amount of light in the sky based off of how much of the suns light can be reflecting off of the moon. Here one earth, we see different phases of the moon while the moon moves and rotates around the earth. One of the phases of the moon, called the new moon, the side of the moon in which we can see from earth is blocked between the earth and the sun, which makes the moon not visible from earth. In contrast to that, when the earth is in-between the sun and the moon, we get what we call a full moon, which is when the moon is the brightest in the sky. There are many things that occur in-between the new moon and full moon though, and those are called quarters. There are three quarters, first, second, and
