Life in college requires one to have mastery in balancing his or her activities. Juggling between an endless list of activities like attending classes, finding time to go the library, doing assignments, sitting for cats, watching your favorite TV programs and adventures while one is still young poses a major dilemma to most students given that we only have only 24 hours a day which is significantly insufficient to be top of all these activities.
Having a relationship in college or engaging in a long distance relationship requires that some good time has to be spent together so that the relationship can thrive. The most fundamental aspect however is to ensure that good grades are maintained by making sure that enough time has been set aside …show more content…

This however requires both parties to have realistic expectations from each other. Going to the library together with your girlfriend or boyfriend is one good example of a public place. Exchanging occasional glances at one another may provide refreshment to ones memory while at the same time strengthening the relationship bond between both parties. This however may not work to all love birds as it may serve as a distraction.
Embrace communication.
One of the major challenges in relationships is lack of proper communication. Free sharing of information on what is happening on each others life if important in nurturing and maintaining relationships in college. Frequent communication will indeed help minimize wrangles because every member will get better understanding of what is going in the mind of the other. Understanding each others schedule is also key for a relationship to thrive and at the same time excel in classroom. Both parties should understand that school issues needs to be given priority and other issues to follow later.

Healthy and meaningful interactions need to be developed. Scheduling some special days when neither party is busy to surprise your partner adds spice to the relationship. This will also ensure that you have more time to spend together since you may not be having time to spend together every day. The idea of spending quality time during special days is interrelated with communication i.e. a mutual agreement need to be made on when you can be able to find and spend time together. Dedicating a few days to positively interact during a month especially on weekends when neither party is attending classes for instance to at least do something different is fun, practical and above all healthy. Such interactions leads to relief of learning stress and will a long way in ensuring that one is not overwhelmed by both learning and social life.
Learning activities and college relationship can indeed complement one another contrary to what most people belief. Relationships can easily act as a motivation tool for learners to excel in their academic endeavors. Engaging in a college relationship with the expectation that it will serve as a motivation tool can indeed help learners attain both their academic goals and still keep the relationship
