Before I go ahead in explaining my opinion, I would want to define about sustainability. What is sustainability? Sustainability is conserving an ecological balance by avoiding depletion of natural resources. Based on the definition I have just given, I honestly feel I am living an unsustainable life. The reason why I feel I am living unsustainably is because I take the presence of natural resources for granted. Before joining the Environmental Science class, I have never pondered upon the importance of natural resources and also the risk of not having any of those resources in future. The two most environmentally unsustainable components of my lifestyle are water and petroleum. Water is a component in my unsustainable lifestyle because of the time consumed for me to complete the chores that involves the usage of water. I have begun to realize the vital usage of water, ever since the state which I live in, Selangor started experiencing water rationing. Petroleum is also a component in my unsustainable lifestyle because of the amount of petrol that my vehicle consumes on a daily usage for me to travel from home to respective …show more content…

I would use solar panels in my house as it converts light to electricity. Using solar panels will reduce the burning of fossil fuels to generate energy as it uses sunlight which is free and available in immeasurable amount. Other than that, in order to sustain the environment through solar energy, I would use solar rooftop. Solar rooftop gathers heat from the sunlight to increase the temperature of the water. Solar rooftop replaces the use of other energy sources such as uranium, coal and gas and reduces the ecological damage. Besides that, I would also use solar powered ventilation which works just like a fan. This would be more environmental sustainable as it would reduce the amount of energy a normal floor or ceiling fan would
