I work unbelievably hard for the sport that I love. I allocate my energy after school sweating my way through an aching workout in a cramped gym. I put in the time to become a notable outfielder, whether it is hot, windy, cold or even if there is snow on the ground. I have also put in a great deal of time and effort into pitching. Every chance I have to hit or throw a ball, you will see me on the field, on the beach, or in the gym. This hard work and passion have been with me since I failed to make the 9-10-year-old All-Star team at the age of nine. After the sobbing for not making the team, I decided it was time for a change. I grabbed those seams and I threw with my dad every opportunity that came my way. All this throwing has made me pinpoint accurate and able to throw a ball like a bullet. When I throw now, people are either fearful, envious, or in awe. This feedback from others has shown me how hard work pays off. This work ethic followed me to pitching, and man have I worked my tail off. Ten out of twelve months a year are devoted to pitching, whether it was in the brutal heat of the summer, the crisp bitter air of fall, or in the gym all winter long. Putting in my best effort has also taught me that I can do anything as long as I set my mind to it. I have learned this from my experience of failing and the desire to never want to fail again. My perseverance and never-ending hard work is something that I am proud of and will tell others to inspire them. I will also tell others that my inspiration of effort came from many others who devoted their lives to the thing that they love. To conclude, I want others to branch out and try working hard and see the outstanding
