They also had a very accurate record of the cycles of the sun, moon and other planets, and had developed a complete calendar system. In other areas, they developed a way of making cement in 300BC, 2100 years before the Europeans, they developed technology that was not surpassed for more than 1000 years. Finally in the areas of communication they had developed the most advanced system of writing in pre-Columbian America and had a system of vigesimal numeration (meaning that their number system was based on the number 20).
