“There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness”.
Being mad is the state of acting chaotically which may be seen to be a result of a mental illness. The tragedy of Hamlet, is suspected to be one of Shakespeare 's most valuable works. Hamlet reveals the ultimate impact of madness on one 's mind, which can be seen in the main character, Hamlet. Hamlet himself portrays madness in his actions through deception, the seek for revenge, and insanity. To discover the reasoning behind Hamlet 's madness, each character is impacted by either exploring why Hamlet is feeling such way or gets trapped in Hamlet 's scheme of deception.

Hamlets action to seek revenge is influenced by Ghost. Ghost is the spirit of Hamlet 's deceased father, who tells him to take action and revenge on the one who took his crown from him, which is Claudius. Ghost tells Hamlet that his death was not accidentally, he was poisoned. Hamlet feels betrayed and promises he will seek revenge. Hamlet 's seek for revenge begins to get out of control when he begins to eliminate people who get in the way of his plans, such as Polonius. Hamlet kills Polonius in act three when he sees Polunius ease dropping on his conversation with his mother. Hamlet believes that Polonius is spying for Claudius. By killing Polonius, Hamlet is eliminating a future problem and allows him to focus back on his main goal of seeking revenge on Claudius. Hamlet decides to pretend mad in order to mastermind Claudius wit suspicion and anticipation that he is seeking revenge. Hamlet states: “O my prophetic soul! My uncle?” (HAM, 54). We are able to tell that Hamlet is dis-trot on the new information he has learned, he begins to go on a rage declaring his revenge on his uncle. “That one may smile, and smile and be a villain. At least I 'm sure it may be so in Denmark (writes). So, uncle, there you are. Now to my word” (HAM, 56). This is where Hamlet takes on the quest of seeking revenge for his fathers loss and to honour him.
