The idea within this article is an interesting age old practice of how to treat one another. I was always taught as a child to treat others the way that I would want to be treated. On a higher level of thought I have been taught to follow the Bible and choose the right moral path as following the example of doing what Jesus expects us to do. However, the world seems to be pulling away from the religious teachings of Christianity and with it the practice of treating each other morally correct. I was once one of these people who pulled away from this practice. But, in the last couple of years I have come to the realization that I did not like the person that I was becoming and I definitely did not want to teach my children to act that way. So I had to relearn these attributes that the world had taught me to turn a blind eye to.
The human value of love is one of the simplest feelings that we can show one another. Most people have felt love in their life. Whether it has been love from their parent or the love that they show their children. It would even be possible to feel love for their pets, careers, or hobbies. ...many exceptions to this rule. Some of it has been from our own lack of values that has led us down this road as a people of earth. Through things outside our control we do let anger, grief, poverty, strife, and lack of acceptance lead us through some dark times. It is however, human nature to let these things happen and can be beyond our control.
It is my choice to choose to try and teach universal human values to my children and to as many other people that I can influence in my life. I have set personal goals to try and make this world a better place to live for everyone. I think that is why I have chosen to pursue careers that will help people cope with their problems and misfortunes in life. Although, I have not fully decided my exact career path. After, just four weeks in this class I may want to add humanitarian to my lists of possible future endeavors.
