The Hobbit

Introduction In 1937 J.R.R. Tolkien wrote the book The Hobbit. The book was intended to be for children however many young adults as well as the generation before them fell in love with the small two hundred and eighty seven page book.
The book intrigues its audience by combining politeness with our own inner rude thoughts on such a relatable level that the reader can’t put the book down. J.R.R. created a whole new world he called “Middle Earth” that the audience can immerse themselves into until they feel as if they live in the world he created. The Hobbit is also even more than just a book itself because J.R.R. used The Hobbit to introduce one of the most iconic trilogies, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy that is still loved today. …show more content…

They overcome these challenges with a little wit and pretty substantial ease. They fight trolls, ogres, giant wolves, and they run from titans. At one point they fall into the ogres cavern and are almost killed if not for Gandalf saving them at the last minute. This is also where Bilbo gets his magic ring that turns him invisible. They are quickly attacked and when it looks most hopeless they are saved by legion of giant birds commanded by the chief eagle. Not to long after they’re making they’re way back home when they come across a man bear type creature who they use their house as shelter from both the ogre and the man-bear himself. They meet later on when the man-bear is in human form and though the man-bear hates dwarves he likes ogres even less. The team is helped by the man-bear and continue on their way with a slight reprieve from being hunted. The team enters a forest where elves are known to reside and start their journey with a quick warning from Gandalf that if they leave the path they won’t find it again. However, without fail they don’t listen to him. The team ends up getting captured by the elves and offered a deal however the dwarf prince’s ego gets in the way and blows off the deal, luckily Bilbo snuck away and saves them by sealing them in barrels and floating them down river until they get to this lake town where he unseals them from their individual escape
